(VINnews) House Democrats have formed the Congressional Jewish Caucus, claiming to create a platform for Jewish lawmakers to address issues concerning the American Jewish community. The House has 24 Jewish members, including three Republicans, who are not part of the new caucus.

Despite the branding of this new caucus as a voice for Jewish concerns, it is notable that none of its members are Mitzvah observant. The fact that Nadler and Schneider, who have shown little regard for traditional Jewish values, were chosen to lead the caucus is another tone deaf action by the Democrats.

The contrast between Democratic and Republican administrations regarding support for Israel has been stark, particularly when comparing President Biden’s handling of military aid to Israel versus former President Trump’s policies.

Reps. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) and Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) spearheaded the initiative, with Nadler serving as a founding co-chair alongside Rep. Brad Schneider (D-Ill.). In a press release issued Thursday, Nadler emphasized the urgency of the new Caucus, noting that it would serve as an essential forum for Jewish members to collaborate on important community issues. “In response to unprecedented rising antisemitism in the United States and the challenges the American Jewish community has faced, the need for this Caucus is understandable,” he said.

Wasserman Schultz echoed the sentiment, stressing the importance of education, understanding, and building stronger relationships with other communities to advance Jewish priorities. She also highlighted the rising antisemitism levels, noting the critical need for a formal platform in Congress to represent Jewish Americans.

“With antisemitism reaching record levels in the United States, it is more important than ever before that Jewish Members of Congress have a formal Caucus to represent the unique perspective of the Jewish American community,” she said.

Schneider, who will co-chair the Caucus with Nadler, described its creation as “essential” in the current climate. He expressed gratitude to Wasserman Schultz for her leadership in organizing the group and underscored the significance of Jewish lawmakers uniting to address the challenges facing their community.

Under Biden, the administration delayed the delivery of critical munitions to Israel during its existential war against Hamas, a move that signaled hesitation in standing firmly by America’s closest ally in the Middle East. This delay occurred despite Israel’s need for immediate military resupply in its fight against terrorism. The Biden administration also entertained progressive Democratic voices in Congress who have openly criticized Israel and pushed for conditions on military aid.

In contrast, Trump was unequivocal in his support for Israel. When he took office, he immediately strengthened the U.S.-Israel alliance, and released the weapons purchased by Israel.

The formation of this caucus comes at a time of increasing antisemitism, yet Nadler and Schneider have only thrown fuel on the fire of antisemitism, Instead of taking a firm stand against anti-Israel rhetoric in their own party, these lawmakers have remained largely silent.

Jerry – you got to take care of your weight, it’s getting out of hand again… maybe a little less of an obsession with getting Trump and attacking him at every turn and perhaps a little more time at the gym will do you a lot of good…just a suggestion Jerry!

The three GOP Congs should form a Traditional Jewish Caucus, or a Zionist Jewish Caucus, or a Torah Jewish Caucus. Otherwise, with the “Jewish Caucus” physical space left solely to the Dems, the latter will follow their usual lefty strategy of using their monopoly of name and tribe to escalate their weaponization of Jewish identity and people against Pres. Trump and Bibi and the GOP. And in favor of appeasement and submission to the left and the Iran/Hamas supporters and jihadis.

Brad Schneider is, and always has been, a strong supporter of Israel and is responsible for a number of critical pieces of pro-Israel legislation. He has also been outspoken on antisemitism.

My only complaint is that there aren’t more in Congress like him – on both sides of the aisle.

Your brothers and sisters are waiting for you here in Israel with open arms.

You have few terrible politicians here too but nothing compared to Nadler & Co.
