JERUSALEM – Israel has approved the latest list of hostages provided by Hamas as part of the ongoing hostage exchange deal. The fifth handover, set for Saturday, will see the release of three hostages: Or Levy, 34, Eliyahu Sharabi, 53, and Ohad Ben Ami, 56. This marks another phase in the complex negotiations between the two sides.

Hamas had initially delivered the names of those set to be released but delayed the handover, citing Israel’s violations of ceasefire terms and lack of sufficient aid reaching the Gaza Strip. Despite these accusations, Israeli officials have emphasized that any violations of the agreement, including delays or failure to meet the terms of the deal—such as the timely delivery of hostages’ names—will be met with serious consequences.
Alongside the release of the three male hostages, Israel has pressed for the return of Shiri Bibas and her children, Ariel and Kfir, who Hamas has claimed are deceased. However, the terror group has yet to provide clear evidence of their deaths. The father, Yarden Bibas, was among those released in a previous exchange alongside Ofer Caldron and Keith Siegal.
