Billionaire Congressman Goldman Caught Stashing Millions in Cayman Islands Tax Haven

WASHINGTON D.C (VINnews)-A recent discovery has linked Congressman Daniel Goldman, a multimillionaire heir to Levi Strauss, to over $30 million in nonprofit funds stashed in a Cayman Islands tax haven. As the financial director of the Richard W. Goldman Family Foundation, Goldman has control over assets that have been funneled offshore by BBR Partners LLC.

This revelation raises eyebrows, particularly given Goldman’s vocal support for Joe Biden’s push to tax the wealthy in 2023. At the time, Goldman claimed that “the wealthiest among us must help to provide more access for others.” However, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings reveal that his foundation’s money is sitting in offshore accounts, a practice that Democrats have criticized in the past.

Notably, this is the same type of tax loophole that Democrats attacked Mitt Romney for using in 2012. The hypocrisy is striking, and raises questions about Goldman’s commitment to transparency and fairness in taxation.

Anyone unbiased could read this article and conclude that nothing wrong was done because it is non-profit funds which aren’t taxable anyways. What is wrong with stashing them in an offshore account?
