U.S. Attorney General Files Charges Against NY Gov and NY AG Over “Green Light Laws” in Crackdown on Illegal Immigration

32

WASHINGTON – The Justice Department has filed a lawsuit against New York over its “green light laws,” which allow undocumented immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses and limit federal immigration authorities’ access to state DMV records. Former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, now a senior DOJ official, made the announcement Wednesday, targeting Governor Kathy Hochul, Attorney General Letitia James, and DMV Commissioner Mark Schroeder.

Bondi initially stated that the DOJ was “filing charges” against the state and its officials but later clarified it was a civil lawsuit, similar to the one filed last week against Illinois and Chicago. She accused New York of obstructing federal immigration enforcement and putting the interests of illegal immigrants ahead of American citizens.

“This is a new DOJ,” Bondi declared. “New York has chosen to prioritize illegal aliens over American citizens. It stops. It stops TODAY.”

The lawsuit is expected to reignite debates over states’ rights, immigration policy, and cooperation between local governments and federal authorities. New York officials have not yet publicly responded to the legal action.

Why don’t the feds focus on the states that want the illegals out?
Let the sanctuary cities deal with the migrants themselves.
As you see the mayor is fed up with them a long time ago.

Yes, keep celebrating until your gardener, cleaning lady, grocery cashier, and every other underpaid person in your life can’t get to their jobs.

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
