WASHINGTON D.C (VINnews)-The IRS is set to undergo a major restructuring, with up to 15,000 employees expected to be let go as early as next week. According to ABC News, this bold step is a necessary response to the agency’s inefficiencies and a chance to rebalance its workforce.

The timing of this move is critical, with tax season just around the corner. By shedding unnecessary personnel, the IRS will be able to refocus its resources on providing better service to American taxpayers.
Meanwhile, President Trump’s Commerce Secretary nominee, Howard Lutnick, has bravely floated the idea of abolishing the IRS entirely. This kind of outside-the-box thinking is exactly what America needs to propel its economy forward and unshackle entrepreneurs and small businesses from the burdens of excessive taxation.
Rather than shying away from tough decisions, the Trump administration is taking a proactive approach to reforming the IRS and making it more accountable to the American people. While some might cry foul at the prospect of layoffs, the fact remains that a leaner, meaner IRS will be better equipped to serve the nation’s taxpayers in the long run.
With a potential federal buyout plan on the horizon in April, affected IRS employees will have ample opportunity to transition to new roles or pursue new career paths. In the meantime, the Trump administration deserves credit for its courage in tackling the entrenched bureaucracy and special interests that have held America back for far too long. This shake-up is just the beginning of a brighter, more prosperous future for all Americans.

This will only help if you change the tax code
It currently stands at 7000 pages. Which means nobody out there actually knows what it says in there and it’s incredibly complex.
Make a simple tax code and then you can have efficiency
Don’t understand why there are negative responses on the comments .The same issues apply with SS, USPS ,& on & on .The system is run like the school system …”when is my shift over ,& when do I get my paycheck.”There is no responsibity to have to answer to anyone .
And please ..no negative comments .If you don’t agree ,try calling ,or going to try to resolve an issue in person at any Gov’t agency .
Biden increased irs employee numbers by 82, 000 employees even if not to many actually joined their ranks a reduction of 15,000 still leaves an increased agency
The federal employment roll is nothing more then a dumping ground to put people to work
This “article” reads like a press release from Elon Musk. A lot of frum Yidden work for the federal government, especially in the Baltimore-Washington area. Some have already lost their jobs and many more are under threat of losing their jobs soon. I personally know several. These are our (and your) neighbors, people you sit with in shul, people your kids go the cheder and Bais Yaakov with. They work hard, do their jobs well (those that still have jobs). They pay taxes, they give tzedakah, they pay yeshiva tuitions, they support their families, they pay mortgages. If thousands of them lose their jobs – all at once, yet – imagine the effect on our communities. Who will pay the tuitions to keep the schools open? Will all these people who were contributors to tzedakah now have to become recipients? What will happen when they can’t pay their mortgages? This could devastate our frum communities.
Howard Lutnick is a good man, a real survivor.
More does not mean more efficiency or better service. But heavy reduction just might shake up the agency
How can tax collecting function any better with laying all those people and closing the IRS. ?
Why can’t the government simply send out a bill for how much tax is owed. The phone company does it. The electric company does. Gas, water, etc. Almost everyone simply sends out a bill with a clear amount that is owed. Taxation seems unneccesaarily complicacted.
Majority of government paid workers do nada!!!
More propaganda.
Cutting people doesn’t necessarily lead to more efficiency. If anything, customer service will get worse.
This will only benefit most wealthy who have less chance of being audited and fewer experienced IRS agents to perform complex audits.
This means less people available to investigate tax fraud, which means less income for the government, which is a form of government waste. Musk is a clown.
B”H!!! If C’V they ever decided to focus on cracking down on fraud how many of our Frum communities would collapse?
