Biden’s $2 Billion Handout to Abrams-Linked Nonprofit Sparks Allegations of Corruption and Cronyism

WASHINGTON D.C (VINnews)-The Former Biden administration is facing scrutiny after the discovery that $20 billion was hastily allocated to outside financial institutions, including a $2 billion grant to a nonprofit linked to Stacey Abrams. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency uncovered what they describe as a “rush job” to distribute funds with reduced oversight.

EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin raised the alarm about the allocation, questioning the legitimacy of one of the recipients, Power Forward Communities (PFC), a nonprofit founded in 2023. Abrams, a former gubernatorial candidate and senior counsel at Rewiring America, has been closely tied to the organization. Rewiring America is part of the PFC “coalition,” which focuses on climate initiatives, particularly electrifying homes and businesses.

Zeldin expressed concern over the rapid dispersal of funds, suspecting that some organizations were created solely to capitalize on this opportunity. “When we learned about the former Biden administration’s scheme to quickly park $20 billion outside the agency, we suspected that some organizations were created out of thin air just to take advantage of this,” Zeldin told the Washington Free Beacon.

Power Forward Communities was awarded $2 billion in April 2024 under the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund Program, part of the Inflation Reduction Act. The program aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and PFC was one of only eight recipients.

Abrams’ involvement raised further questions after her public support for Biden in an Atlanta Journal-Constitution op-ed just a month before the grant was awarded. Critics have pointed to the timing as suspicious, highlighting her influence within Democratic circles.
