NEW YORK – In a heart-stopping moment, David Deng, a Brooklyn man, narrowly avoided death when a wooden board flew off a truck and shattered his windshield while driving across the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge last week. Deng and his family were en route to a funeral when they passed a white pickup truck, whose driver had apparently stopped to secure the large wooden board in the back.

As high winds battered the bridge, the unsecured board became airborne, heading straight for Deng’s car. Dashcam footage shows the projectile crashing into the windshield, leaving Deng momentarily blind. “I was in complete shock,” Deng recalled. “I pretty much knew what was happening at the moment, but everyone was in shock, and we were like, ‘What are we gonna do?’”
Despite the terrifying ordeal, Deng kept his composure, driving on and managing to find a safe spot to pull over once they crossed the Staten Island-Brooklyn Bridge. He and his family were covered in shattered glass, but miraculously, no one was injured.
Deng did not report the incident to the NYPD immediately, as they were in a rush to attend the funeral. He is now urging anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward and help authorities locate the truck driver responsible.
I guess that makes him a Brooklyn Dodger…….
