NEW YORK – Manischewitz, the iconic kosher food brand, has launched a new food truck in New York City, bringing classic Jewish dishes to the streets. The “Manischewitz Deli on Wheels” made its debut at South Street Seaport, offering free samples of matzah ball soup, mini knishes, warm babka, and more to media and passersby.

The truck will be touring New York City and New Jersey, sharing samples of new products like ready-to-eat frozen matzah balls and blintzes. After a special period, the truck will become a mobile deli with a flexible menu, featuring traditional items such as matzah ball soup, split knishes topped with pastrami, and other hearty fare.
Shani Seidman, chief marketing officer of Kayco (Manischewitz’s parent company), shared that the idea was inspired by a viral tweet calling for a soup truck during New York City’s cold winters. She saw this as the perfect opportunity to showcase Manischewitz’s most iconic product: matzah ball soup.
Manischewitz, which became part of Kayco in 2019, has been modernizing its brand in recent years to appeal to younger Jewish audiences, as well as those curious about Jewish cuisine. Despite the rebranding, the Manischewitz food truck will not serve the famous Manischewitz wine, as the wine license is handled separately by another manufacturer.
In addition to bringing comfort food to New Yorkers, the truck aims to introduce the iconic tastes of Jewish food in a new, accessible way.

The Chafetz Chaim set up kosher soup kitchens in the polish army. At one point a manager told him that there were yiddishe soldiers eating first kosher then going to the treifa mess hall. To which he replied, each bite of kosher means that he will eat one less bite of treif!
I hope that this truck will accomplish at least that, the semi affiliated will eat matzah ball soup instead of buying from the hotdog stands all over the streets.
When will The Kosher Food Truck be in Brooklyn NY?
I want to see chicken soup drink take over snapple.
Lately, Manischewitz has been very creative with marketing lately. One can see that they are on a new path attempting to compete with the many other brands that have come out since their heyday.
Put it near the Staten Island ferry.
The report says “Manischewitz, the iconic kosher food brand”. However, it does NOT say food served from the TRUCK is kosher certified. Makes sense it should be kosher. But the report does not indicate whether yes or no.
What’s the hechsher?
Shouldn’t they need a mashgiach? After all, there might be nuts in the chicken soup.
It won’t last 5 minutes without being vandalized.
