LONDON (VINnews)-British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is set to declare that “globalization is over” in a speech scheduled for Monday. This announcement marks a departure from traditional Labour Party positions and acknowledges the impact of President Donald Trump’s tariff strategies, despite Starmer’s disagreement with his methods.

A senior official from Downing Street stated, “Trump has done something that we don’t agree with, but there’s a reason why people are behind him on this.” This statement highlights the growing recognition within the UK government of the challenges posed by globalization, particularly for working-class citizens.

Starmer’s forthcoming address will argue that globalization has failed to deliver for working people, advocating instead for a “different path” that avoids the pitfalls of trade wars. This remarkable pivot reflects how dramatically Trump’s policies have influenced international economic discourse, prompting leaders like Starmer to reconsider their approaches in light of changing public sentiment.

As the Labour government navigates these complex economic waters, the implications of Starmer’s speech could resonate far beyond the UK, potentially reshaping the global conversation on trade and economic policy.

The UK leader has lost his country to the Islamists. He allowed 4 million Islamists to invade. Ten large cities, including London, Leeds, Birmingham have Islamist mayors, some can barely speak English and have connections with terrorists
The Muslims march in vicious protests on a daily basis, chanting death to England, death to Israel, death to the west. Streets are blocked of traffic and people going to work. England is gone to hell because of the Globalists. Their churches have turned into mosques all over the country. England is gone. France and Germany are gone. We have to be grateful to Hashem that Trump is our president. Life for all of us would be 100% worse, and the same for Israel, if Kamala won the election.

Globalisation has benefited corporate profitabity generally by exploiting the low wage populations. Its impact t has been to raise standards in these economies but at the expense of the traditional industries of the old economies. Trumps reaction reflects the anger of the working populations in these old economies whose livelihoods were destroyed, exacerbated by an unwillingness to move to work and retrain.
However the corporate benefits of globalisation did not just benefit the rich shareholders of these corporations. Witness the pension funds of millions of workers worldwide now suffering from the pull back triggered by Trump and seemingly being “adjusted to” by other World leaders. This is a mistake in my opinion. Globalisation is an efficient use of world resources. Protectionism protects inefficient use of resources. Ols economic truths. We will suffer.
