Albag then published a moving Facebook post defending her statements, leading to Prime Minister Netanyahu personally calling her and expressing his admiration for her courage and bravery. Albag thanked him for calling and for enabling her and many others to be released and asked him to continue the efforts to release all remaining hostages.

In the initial interview that “If I were sitting in front of Netanyahu, I would tell him, ‘Because of you, I, a 20-year-old, went through the worst thing a person could ever go through. You are to blame for everything, and you need to fix what you did.'”

When asked what she would expect Netanyahu to do, she replied:
“That he would say sorry for what he put me through, and that he would promise me that the rest of the hostages will be home soon. He made a lot of promises, but…”

She added that:
“He is to blame – and he needs to fix it. He should promise that the rest of the hostages will be here soon.”

Albag was accused of ingratitude towards Netanyahu who had worked for her release, as well as being mocked for her appearance and views. Some critics even wrote that she didn’t deserve to be released from captivity.

In her powerful response published on Facebook, Albag spoke from her heart:

“I read the comments, I read the threats I received, the curses. And I’m afraid. Not afraid of the comments themselves, not afraid of meeting one of the people who wrote those things to me. I’m afraid of what we’ve become. To wish someone would be taken captive??? I wouldn’t even wish that on my enemies.

“To mock me about my weight??? That reminds me of those terrorists who used to laugh at me. Who made sure to remind me every day that I was fat.

“To promise me death and revenge??? Save that for Hamas and our enemies. Not for me.

“And all of this—why? Because I said the Prime Minister is responsible for the failure?

“It’s not like I used political terminology—I don’t even understand politics!!!
And yes, the entire security echelon (Shin Bet, heads of the army, Military Intelligence…) is responsible. Don’t worry, I told them that directly in our meetings!!!!
And of course, first and foremost, Hamas is to blame for the nightmare our country is going through—I never forget what that terror organization did, and I personally want revenge. Hamas is the enemy!!!!!!!!

“I never imagined I would get such responses from people in Am Yisrael.
And you know what hurts the most?
That this internal division is worse than our enemies.
This is not how we win!!

“We have much more important battles to fight—people’s lives are at stake.
You have no idea how much I admire IDF soldiers and the security forces.
How much I admire the soldiers wounded in body and soul!
You can’t imagine how much pain I feel for every fighter or civilian who fell in this war for our country and for the hostages.
I personally know quite a few of the fallen—they were my friends!!!

“To all those people who responded to me with vile, heartless, inhumane words:
Spare yourselves—it’s a shame that this is what will be written next to your name on Judgment Day.
Better that you use your time to pray and act for the safety of the country, the safety of IDF soldiers and the security forces, and the return of all the hostages.

“It would be better if you directed all this poison toward Hamas, Iran, Hezbollah, and the many enemies we have.
As a Jewish people attacked again and again—from Egypt until today—let’s fight our enemies, not each other.

“You will never understand what we went through there.
And I don’t wish you to ever understand!

“I wish all of us health in body and soul, happy lives, and success.
Am Yisrael Chai!”

“I don’t even know anything about politics—but I still feel that it was my talk about who’s to blame for 10/7.
“I’m horrified at ‘what we’ve become’— the divisiveness & hate—but rather than just being grateful & positive about life, I’m gonna make hateful, divisive comments, blaming the person who has been leading our country through all of this.
”Hamas is to blame for 10/7, and we should all stand together and pray for our soldiers… But I won’t even acknowledge that perhaps I shouldn’t have spoken critically of our own leadership as I did…”

Oh, OK.
Because in 2025, being a young person of the Left means you can contradict yourself within one sentence… nothing you say has to have any logical consistency… and you can criticize everyone around you for moral shortcomings while you refuse to acknowledge your own errors of judgment.

Don’t get it , if she claims she doesn’t understand politics then why is she blaming Netanyahu in the first place?? Maybe if she DID understand politics she would blame the liberals for being soft on hamas prior to October 7 . And if she had emuna she would realize that the rbs”a was behind this. Tell her to get in front of a camera and say that!
