Seminole, TX — Peter Hildebrand, a father of ten from rural Texas, is facing national scrutiny after refusing to change his anti-vaccination stance—even after his 8-year-old daughter, Daisy, died from measles complications earlier this month.

Daisy, who was unvaccinated, passed away on April 3 from measles pulmonary failure amid a growing outbreak in Gaines County. Her death marked the second child fatality from measles in Texas this year and came as part of a larger crisis sweeping across the U.S. In total, the CDC has reported 712 confirmed measles cases so far in 2025, with at least three resulting in death—the nation’s first measles fatalities in over a decade.
Hildebrand, a devout Christian and self-described health freedom advocate, told The Guardian he does not regret the decision not to vaccinate his children. “I don’t believe the MMR vaccine is safe or effective,” he said, adding that several vaccinated relatives had contracted measles and fared worse than his unvaccinated children.

Following Daisy’s death, U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. visited the Hildebrand family to offer condolences. Notably, Kennedy, a longtime critic of vaccine mandates, did not advocate for vaccination during the meeting. In a later statement, he called the MMR vaccine “an effective tool” but emphasized alternative treatments being used by some local doctors in Texas, including aerosolized budesonide and the antibiotic clarithromycin. However, public health experts warn that these treatments are not proven to combat measles and could offer a false sense of security.
In Seminole, some clinics have leaned into these alternatives, which has fueled confusion and distrust toward public health guidance. As the outbreak continues to grow, Texas has become a flashpoint in the national debate over vaccination, individual rights, and the role of government in public health.
The Hildebrand family’s loss, while heartbreaking, has not shaken Peter’s core beliefs. He has urged others to “do their own research,” and expressed frustration at what he sees as media pressure to change his mind.
“I will not allow Daisy’s death to be used to push an agenda I don’t believe in,” Hildebrand said.
Still, doctors and public health officials are sounding the alarm. “Measles is one of the most contagious diseases known,” said a CDC spokesperson. “Vaccination remains the safest and most effective way to protect children and communities.”
As communities across the country face new measles outbreaks, the tragedy in Seminole serves as both a personal story of loss and a flashpoint in the growing national rift over science, public health, and personal freedom.
This latest Measels outbreak is all Public Health officials fault for steering low legacy-vaccination confidence with all the balatant C19 jab lies – especially CDC in Sept. 2021 chnaging the very definition of a vaccine from “long term immunity” to only “protection”. There are probably x50 the amount of skeptics than there were before.
In 1785, Rabbi Avraham ben Shlomo Nansich published a small pamphlet entitled “Aleh Terufah,” detailing the tragic loss of two of his children to smallpox and beseeching the rabbis of his generation to allow inoculation.
240 years ago, “inoculation” consisted of scratching the person’s skin with a fork dipped in an active pustule. it was dangerous, but even then it was better than nothing.
There is no vaccine for stupidity..
When did the frum community get co-opted by the stupid anti-vax conspirators? I assume they are also members of the “ flat earth “ society. I am old enough to remember what life was like before vaccines. Maybe we need to remind ourselves that before the COVID vaccine, the hospitals were overcrowded with people sick with COVID and many were dying.
It makes me wonder why some people are allowed to cross the street without an adult holding their hand.
ורפא ירפא means that its incumbent on doctors to heal the sick. And today, the availability of tried and reliable vaccines is part of the healing mandate. Somehow, ignoramuses and primitive people have cornered the anti-vax movement. And they are given greater credibility than medical researchers. Its mind-boggling!
Is this the same case that was falsely described as death due to measles? Doctors who were given the medical report by the family, reported that the cause of death is doctor’s error for failing to give the correct antibiotic.
There are at least 40 reported deaths a year from the MMR vaccine
And that’s just the ones that are reported to VAERS. According to a Harvard study only about 1% of adverse effects are reported
So until the MMR is completely safe, it might be safer to have the measles
As of now the safety testing is very lacking
And I personally know a five year old child who become non verbal autistic overnight after an MMR vaccine
I know a family that has five siblings, all older in the 60-70 range. All but one took the Covid shot, the perfectly safe and effective Covid shot.
All but one are suffering from a variety of illnesses today that came within a few months to a year of the clot shot. One has serious cancer. Another can hardly walk she has numbness and other issues. One developed a different serious disease. One had a stroke.
Basically, the only healthy sibling right now is the one who didn’t take the Covid shot. She is miserably surrounded by her siblings who are all quite ill and disabled. And according to our government, the shot is “safe”. And how much I trust the medical profession when it comes to recommending me their products? Not even one bit. It’s all about money and nothing about health. And if they can scare us to sell a product all the better
RFK Jr is an idiot, a moron & defacto MURDERER, There is absolutely no scientific proof of what the anti vax morons claim. However there is volumes of proof that vaccines prevent disease and deaths. If it were up to RFK Jr would revert to the days of hospital wards full of iron lungs and paralyzed for life children and adults, sterile boys from mumps and a litinay of other preventable diseases. To all you Morons out there, if there were a vaccine to prevent cance would you be against that also? I just dont get it, we are a smart people, yet we fall for this anti vax stupidity.
he should be charged with homicide. there was no negligence in his decision, which was the direct cause of her death. my sympathy for his loss ended when he declared his intention to do it again.
Heroic father not allowing himself to be brainwashed to poison his children. Viruses have never been isolated, all they have is pictures for scientific evidence!!?? and computer simulations.
Sounds like a Lakewood yungerman
