Brookline Hotel Cancels Passover Seders, Welcomes Rep. Rashida Tlaib Instead

BISTON – A hotel in Brookline, Massachusetts — home to one of Boston’s largest Jewish communities — canceled two planned Passover Seders just days before the holiday, choosing instead to host anti-Israel Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib.

The Iris Hotel Boston, owned by notorious landlord and Tlaib donor Anwar Faisal, scrapped the Seders last minute, disappointing guests who had already been invited. Meanwhile, the hotel rolled out the welcome mat for Tlaib, flying a Palestinian flag (mistakenly upside down) and screening a film on the Palestinian narrative.

“It felt like a slap in the face,” said Sosi Rochel, one of the invitees. “It was deeply disappointing.”

Tlaib, censured by Congress for promoting falsehoods about the October 7 Hamas massacre and calling for the destruction of Israel, has a long track record of anti-Israel and antisemitic statements.

The hotel refused to address the cancellation directly, releasing only a vague Facebook post insisting the flag was “not political.”

Jewish leaders condemned the move. “This is a staggering new low,” said StopAntisemitism’s Liora Rez. “A blatant act of complicity in hate.”

Republican Jewish Coalition spokesman Sam Markstein called it “abhorrent,” demanding an apology from the hotel’s ownership.

Why in the world were seders being held in a hotel run by a Talib supporting Arab? Are there no other hotels in Boston? To quote Forrest Gump: “Stupid is as stupid does.”

I’ve been thinking about this a long time since way before 10/07. How we as Jews are always in our own little hate group that today seems legally acceptable. Universities, companies hotels like this one and even countries are not holding back their hatred of us. Antisemitism seems to be allowed while racism is not. Since haters believe we are of the Jewish race, I think it’s time to stop using the term antisemitism, which only separates us from the rest of the world. We are of the Jewish race, blacks are of the black race, Asians, Indians etc all race. Time to start calling out this hatred of us as racial hatred! These a**h*les won’t know what hit them with that. God forbid they are racists! They always cry “I’m not a racist I’m only an anti Zionist which then allows them to be antisemitic cause we rule the world? Right? Idiots!! Next time instead of calling them antisemitic (they think that’s a badge of honor) call them racists and see where it goes!

    Sounds like antisemitism.
I suppose the people who wanted the seder there did not know that the owner was a Pro Terror supporter.

I wonder if, at the time the either seder was originally booked, that the hotel knew or suspected that something like the Rashida Tlaib event may have been in the works.
