Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., has been among the outspoken Democrats on Abrego Garcia’s case, visiting El Salvador this week to push for his return. It would seem that, in his view, we need people like Mr. Garcia, who, according to his own wife, violently beat her up on several occasions, hurt their baby by placing pressure on him, and punched her in the eye turning it purple and causing it bleed. Jennifer Vasquez was so frightened of him that she filed a police report for protection from him.
The good senator is obviously of the opinion that women need to learn their place in American society and that Mr. Garcia is a hard-working loving family man who is such a good guy that he can sit and have Martini drinks with him with Marachino Cherries trying to figure out how to get him back into this country.
In all seriousness, however, the Senator’s actions are deeply troubling. His own wife, Jennifer Vasquez filed a police report seeking protection after she alleged that he:
- Violently assaulted her on multiple occasions
- Caused injury to their baby
- Struck her in the face, causing bruising and bleeding
These allegations ring true. If she was making them up she would have made up far more serious allegations. And she has photos, recordings, and video tape.
His behavior constitutes serious domestic violence. As your constituent, It is quite concerning that the Senator’s time, influence, and taxpayer resources are being directed toward advocating for someone facing such serious accusations.
Domestic violence affects millions of Americans. When public officials appear to minimize or look past such allegations in their work, it sends a troubling message about our priorities as a society and our commitment to protecting victims.
The senator should immediately apologize or resign.
Chris Hamas Van Hollen is all for criminals and illegal aliens and for hamas, he isn’t for victims of violent illegal aliens or for Americans held hostage by hamas, he is a sad little nasty pos.
Not surprising Van Hollen also hates Israel. He ALWAYS strongly supports stopping weapons shipments to Israel. He isn’t that great towards Jews either (& if not for so many powerful Jewish Marylanders he’d be even worse).
Chris Van Hollen is the leader of the democrat party now that Obama took Biden/Harris out of the picture.
Nonsense. One can be for due process without being for criminals.
This is such a fallacy-driven argument: that it’s either/or.
He may be a gang-banger and should be deported but we don’t know that.
All we have, really, is an accusation made in a police report.
Why are you all so afraid of having him tried in a court of law?
Seriously, Sara! Is that your argument? Are you suggesting that husband abusers should be imprisoned alongside terrorists? Yes, I am aware that there are accusations of gang involvement and that he entered the country illegally. I understand all of that, but I just want to point out that this article’s approach is ridiculous.
