Ben-Gvir was set to speak Saturday at the Young Israel of Woodmere, a religious Zionist congregation with more than 2,500 members. The synagogue did not provide a reason for the cancellation in its statement.
However, sources close to the minister said the event was called off due to a personal matter affecting the synagogue’s leadership. According to those sources, the rabbi who was scheduled to host the minister experienced a death in the family.
Ben-Gvir, a prominent figure in Israeli politics, had been expected to address the congregation during his visit to the United States. It was unclear whether the event would be rescheduled.
More likely security concerns and the police encouraged them to cancel
You smart alecks should be ashamed of yourselves. The Rav of the YI of Woodmere lost his father, A”H this week. They are now in the midst of shiva. I know this family personally and they are wonderful people with fine middos. The father was a retired oncologist who had helped many people in his long life and his children are Talmidei Chachomim. Shame on you all for making this a joke. Ben Gvir can go speak at the YI of Lawrence-Cedarhurst instead.
Who are these American Jews and Israeli expats screaming “nazi” at him at Wall St. Why fon’t they demonstrate against Hamas ? These make us puke. Self hating Jews like so many. They’re angry at the wrong man. The leftist Israeli governments of the past made Oct 7 possible. Deep State Shin Bet and the other lefties are responsible. What’s wrong with them?
I was proud to have Rabbi KAHANE SPEAK in my synagogue in the 80’s and if I was not retired, I would do the same for BEN-GVIR. rabbi dr. Bernhard Rosenberg

Long Island synagogue cancels Ben-Gvir speaking engagement
National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir’s scheduled speech at the Young Israel of Woodmere was canceled just …
Kudos to Rabbi Rosenberg. I live in Midwood and remember attending a speech by Rabbi Kahane HY” D at the Young Israel on Ocean Avenue
Many Shuls did not allow him to speak. Shame on the Long Island Shul
The cancellation was an act of respect for the Rabbi and the death in his family. The nasty comments here are totally unwarranted and display insensitivity, and a selfish attitude. I wonder just how many of the people responsible for these comments were planning to attend?
Please clarify why Ben Gvir’s appearance last night at 770 Eastern Parkway was not reported by VIN? There were hundreds of Chassidim supporters to see and hear Ben Gvir, and many cops who successfully repelled hordes of Hamas and anti-Israeli demonstrators. There were many photos of Ben Gvir’s appearance in Crown Heights on Arutz Sheva, but none appeared here. There should be equal coverage of that event, whether one agrees with Ben Gvir or not. In fact, he is also scheduled to appear in Boro Park. The latter event should also be reported on this site.
Here’s an idea- invite Hadassah ladies, honor tree growers, give certificates, invite parve speakers, and all synagogues will invite.
This is an act of cowardice from a board of directors fearing a demonstration out side
But this is probably the largest non hasdfic Shul in the country with over 2500 paid members Just wondering what the membership is saying
Well he is a Zionist…
Shame.
Because of a death in the family of the Sponsor, the event is canceled?
Sounds cruel and immature.
I find it hard to believe that this is the reason
They should continue wearing their COVID masks.
Was it because he was unsafe or he was unholy
