WASHINGTON – A new report reveals that Amazon plans to begin displaying tariff-related charges alongside product prices, highlighting the added costs of tariffs—particularly those tied to President Donald Trump’s trade policies.

The announcement sparked swift backlash from the White House, where officials condemned the move as a blatant political attack.

“This is a hostile and political action by Amazon,” said Trump campaign press secretary Caroline Leavitt during a press briefing Monday morning. “Why didn’t Amazon do this when Biden hiked inflation to the highest level in 40 years?”

Leavitt went on to accuse the retail giant of bias and foreign entanglements. “As Reuters reported, Amazon has partnered with a Chinese propaganda firm! This is another reason Americans should BUY AMERICAN.”

Amazon has not yet issued a formal statement in response to the criticism. The rollout of tariff labeling is expected later this year.

Smart Move Amazon. Mr Trump is ruining millions of small businesses that rely on cheap Chinese imports. All of us will pay higher prices because of his recklessness.
80% of these imports will never be made in the US no matter how high the tariff.
Humility. That’s what Mr Trump is missing. He has many talents & good ideas but his lack of humility will ruin everything.
I voted for him but this isn’t what I voted for.

Amazon is right. if Trump doesn’t like it end these silly tariffs once and for all Or you can continue to bury your head in the sand. Lets be clear, these things will; never be produced in the USA. Its just logistcally impossible. We aren’t and can’t be built for it and we don’t have the resources. All this will do is increase prices. We lived just fine before this. There was no jobs issue. This caziness needs to stop.

There are many frum importes+sellers on Amazon who are grappling with this very issue. You take the good with bad. How far will they support Trump once it seriously affects their bottom line?

Doesn’t Amazon break-out delivery costs of items they sell?

Transparency is good. However, showing tariff charges doesn’t tell the full story, since some items are manufactured using parts that are separately subject to tariffs.

What a dumb by a supposedly smart guy. Bezos knows that any tariff won’t stop people buying on Amazon to any real degree. So why is he doing it?

Learn a trade. Learn a proffesion. It is nobodies responsibility to bail you out because all of a sudden you took a short cut from learning a trade by “going into business” instead of putting in the time to learn a proffession. Contractor, Plumber, electrician, doctor, nurse, accountant, mechanic dont need to worry about tarriffs.

The cards are beginning to fall.
He went too big and too fast on tarriffs. I’d grade him a D- on that’s being kind as a MAGA supporter. A+ on almost everything else.
