The Israel Defense Forces and Shin Bet security agency identified the man as Mohammed Rasmi Marzouk Baraka, a member of Hamas’s terrorism intelligence division. Baraka appeared in widely circulated footage showing the abduction of Adar from Kibbutz Nir Oz. She was later released from captivity in November 2023 as part of a temporary cease-fire and hostage deal.

A second Hamas Terrorist seen in the same vehicle during Adar’s abduction, Asim Hatab, was reportedly killed in a separate incident months ago, though the military has not officially confirmed his death.

The IDF did not disclose the exact location of Monday’s strike. However, Hamas-run authorities in Gaza said Israeli strikes hit multiple sites in Gaza City, including a former school in the Tuffah neighborhood, killing at least 15 people. Another strike near a local market reportedly killed 33 more.

The Israeli military accused Hamas of “systematically violating international law” and using civilian infrastructure to conduct terror activities.
