The May 7 demonstration, which took place during finals week, saw masked protesters occupy parts of the library, hang Palestinian flags, and deface property as hundreds of students were preparing for exams. Police entered the building later that evening and arrested 80 participants.

Acting Columbia President Claire Shipman denounced the protest, calling it a serious breach of university rules.

The incident comes as Columbia faces heightened federal scrutiny, including the revocation of $400 million in funding over concerns of antisemitism on campus. According to Bloomberg, officials are also reviewing the visa status of foreign students involved in the protest.

The ones who were arrested, who are here on student visas, must have those visas revoked now, and they must all be deported ASAP!
