JERUSALEM – Released Israeli-American hostage Edan Alexander was subjected to severe torture and prolonged confinement in a cage while in Hamas captivity, according to an initial report by Israel’s Kan public broadcaster.

Alexander, who was abducted during the Hamas-led assault on October 7, 2023, was reportedly interrogated over several weeks and held in a tunnel in the southern Gaza Strip alongside other hostages.
