Samaria Woman Murdered By Terrorists On Her Way To Give Birth, Baby Successfully Delivered

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — In a horrendous terrorist attack which occurred on Wednesday night near the town of Bruchin in Samaria, a pregnant woman on her way to give birth was murdered and her husband was injured.

Tze’ela Gez, a resident of Bruchin and mother of three who was nine months pregnant, was murdered when a terrorist opened fire at a vehicle between Bruchin and the Peduel Junction in Samaria.

Gez’s husband was lightly wounded in the attack. Tzeela suffered critical injuries and her husband, who was also injured, tried to treat her and alerted emergency services, who raced to the scene. She was flown by helicopter to Beilinson hospital in critical condition. Doctors fought to save her life and delivered her baby by C-section, but she succumbed to her injuries a few hours later. The baby was taken in serious but stable condition to the Schneider Children’s Medical Center in Petah Tikva.

A defense official stated that initial details indicate that terrorists fired at three vehicles and hit one of them. It was also reported that the terrorists pointed lasers at the vehicle before shooting at it.”

MDA Paramedic Erez Fogel, one of the first to arrive at the scene, said: “We left from a nearby community with the ambulance and quickly arrived at the scene. We saw a private vehicle on the side of the road with bullet markings. Inside the vehicle was the driver, a woman in her 30s, unconscious with severe gunshot injuries.

“In the seat next to the driver was a male around 40 years old, fully conscious, also suffering from gunshot wounds. He was trying to treat the injured woman next to him and attempted to stop her bleeding. We got both of them out of the car and provided medical treatment. We loaded the female into the mobile intensive care unit and evacuated her to the hospital while performing resuscitation efforts, as her condition was critical. The male was evacuated in another intensive care ambulance, fully conscious, in serious condition.”

Prime Minister Netanyahu responded to the attack, stating that: “I am deeply shocked by the horrific attack in Samaria against a woman in advanced pregnancy and her husband, while they were on their way to the delivery room. This despicable event reflects exactly the difference between us — those who cherish and bring life — and the vile terrorists whose very purpose in life is to kill us and cut life short.”

The Prime Minister further stated:
“I trust our security forces will, in this case as well, quickly reach the murderers and settle accounts with them and with all those who aided them.”

President Isaac Herzog wrote this morning:
“The murder of Tzeela Gez, of blessed memory, on her way to the delivery room, is a heinous act of terror that chills the heart. Precisely at the moment of new life – life was cruelly taken. My heart is with the grieving family and with all her loved ones, who are deeply shocked. We are all now praying for the well-being of the baby and for the recovery of her wounded husband, Chananel. Terror will not defeat the Israeli spirit. We will pursue terrorism everywhere and will not rest. May her memory be a blessing.”

Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that the defense establishment will settle the score with the murderers:
“I express my condolences to the family for the murder of Tzeela Gez, of blessed memory, by bloodthirsty beasts while she was on her way to give birth at the hospital, and I pray for her child and for the recovery of her husband who was wounded in the vile attack in Samaria. We will continue to fight terrorism with strength throughout Judea and Samaria and will not allow it to raise its head.”

He added:
“I instructed the IDF to identify where the terrorists came from and to deal forcefully with the town or the place of residence of those who sent them — to eliminate the terrorists and destroy all terror infrastructure, just as we have acted in similar past cases. We will continue offensive actions to pursue the terrorists and those who send them. Whoever supports and shelters terrorism will pay a heavy price.”

Finance Minister and Chairman of the Religious Zionism Party Bezalel Smotrich eulogized:
“Tzeela Gez, may God avenge her blood, was murdered on her way to the delivery room. The pain is searing, and the cruelty of these sub-human monsters is incomprehensible. Just as we are flattening Rafah, Khan Yunis, and Gaza, we must flatten the terror nests in Judea and Samaria. Bruchin and A-Dik should look like Shuja’iyya and Tel Sultan. Condolences and a big embrace to the family and the Bruchin community in this difficult time, and prayers for a full recovery for Chananel and the newborn.”

Minister Orit Strock, a member of the Security Cabinet, responded:
“Tzeela Gez, may God avenge her blood, a woman full of life was on her way to bring new life into the world, but death ambushed her at the hands of vile murderers. The lesson should have been learned long ago and is already written in the blood spilled on Judea and Samaria’s roads: anyone not authorized to travel on the roads of the small State of Israel due to their dangerous nature must not be allowed on the arteries of life in Judea and Samaria. There is an alternative road network. Tzala’s life is more important than 15–20 extra minutes of driving or waiting at a checkpoint. Any other decision is a decision to treat citizens as second-class, as if their lives are worth less.”

Shai Alon, head of the Beit El Council, said:
“The blood is boiling this morning with the terrible news of the horrific murder of Tzeela Gez, may God avenge her blood, who was killed on her way to give birth with her husband. From the great joy of bringing life into the world, cursed terrorists cruelly and wickedly cut life short. The blood price paid by Jews in their land is soaring, and warnings are ignored.”

“In place of joy, in our own country, such a journey ends in tragedy. Our political leadership is still going against the flow. There is no fundamental change if terrorists continue to roam freely here. We cry out to collect all weapons and eliminate the Palestinian Authority, to erase the refugee camps and expel terrorists from the land! This will dramatically reduce terrorism. The village must be encircled, and IDF fighters must go house to house so the terrorist cannot escape. There must be a ‘price tag’ for attacks on Jews in the State of Israel! Our blood boils, and there is no rest from the worry and rage at the terrible refusal of the political echelon to change their thinking and course of action. They don’t want to change their approach. They don’t want to fix the security situation.”

He concluded:
“No one is going to do our job for us — Trump is not going to work on our behalf. Stop stammering and unleash our fighters. It’s time to act with force. The Middle East respects strength, and we must act without fear and without hesitation. You have no more excuses — start working! We’re going the wrong way.”
