Secretary of State Marco Rubio Strongly Rebukes Van Hollen Over Criticism of His Foreign Policy Work

WASHINGTON D. C. (VINnews) — Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Monday fired back at Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., after what he called an “absurd” seven-minute critique of his performance as the nation’s top diplomat.

“There is division in our government between the federal branch and the judicial branch,” Rubio said during a press conference. “No judge in the judicial branch — and not even the president — can tell me how to conduct foreign policy. No judge can tell me how I have to outreach to foreign partners and what I have to say to them.”

Rubio’s remarks come after Van Hollen accused the secretary of failing to uphold key diplomatic standards and bypassing accountability measures in his recent dealings with U.S. allies. The senator’s comments were part of a broader debate over executive overreach and the role of the State Department in balancing foreign policy with international human rights obligations.

Rubio defended his record, arguing that his outreach to global partners was essential to maintaining U.S. influence abroad and that he operates within the authority granted to him by the Constitution and federal law.

The exchange is the latest flashpoint in a deepening partisan divide over foreign policy and the separation of powers, with Democrats accusing the administration of marginalizing Congress in key international decisions.

Neither Van Hollen nor the White House responded immediately to requests for comment.

Chris Van Hollen is a Hamas scum of the earth dirt bag. The voters who put him in a position of power need to have their heads examined.
