PHILADELPHIA (VINnews) — A new report by the Canary Mission reveals a coordinated effort by a coalition of extremist groups in Philadelphia to spread anti-Israel ideology and foster antisemitism through political alliances, academic institutions and K-12 education.

The report outlines how the Philly Palestine Coalition has spearheaded efforts to build alliances with political, interfaith and activist organizations under the banner of “social and racial justice.” These alliances, the report claims, have helped normalize support for terrorist groups and promote an anti-Israel agenda across the city.
Three key arenas were identified in the report:
Coalition Building: The Philly Palestine Coalition played a central role in recruiting intersectional partners. By aligning with progressive causes, the group advanced anti-Israel messaging in citywide protests and initiatives. Local elected officials were also seen publicly supporting the movement.
University Influence: Institutions including the University of Pennsylvania, Drexel University and Temple University became organizing hubs for faculty and students. Together, they launched campaigns, classroom initiatives and protests designed to further the coalition’s goals.
K-12 Education: Activist teachers, administrators and parents worked to embed anti-Israel narratives into school curricula. The report highlights incidents of Jewish students and teachers facing harassment and ideological pressure within public schools.
According to the findings, this coordinated network has contributed to a surge in antisemitic incidents in Philadelphia, leaving the city’s Jewish community vulnerable and increasingly isolated.
The report warns that by targeting youth—through both higher education and public schools—the coalition has effectively created a pipeline for radicalization, ensuring their ideology takes root in the next generation.
City officials and school leaders have yet to formally respond to the report’s findings. Jewish advocacy groups are calling for immediate action to protect students and restore educational integrity.
The report concludes with a call for increased transparency, stronger safeguards in education, and accountability for institutions and public figures who align with extremist elements.
