NEW YORK – Former Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, now running for mayor of New York City, announced Friday that he had received the endorsement of the influential Bobov Orthodox Jewish community—claiming it represents over 20,000 voters.

“I’m so grateful to have the support of Bobov, which is a powerful statement of my continued commitment to the Orthodox community,” Cuomo said. “Bobov cares deeply about keeping their community and families safe, making sure that there are police and appropriate resources in Borough Park and beyond. I’m honored to have their support and want to thank Joel Rosenfeld for being an ally and a friend. Standing up to hate could not be more important in this election and I’m proud to partner with Bobov to do just that.”
Joel Rosenfeld, a Bobov representative, told Jewish Insider that Cuomo had “expressed deep regret for the distress caused” by restrictions he implemented during the COVID lockdown, “acknowledging past mistakes and committing to prevent such issues in the future.”
But Orthodox journalists pushed back on Cuomo’s claim of broad support. AMI magazine’s Yochnon Donn and political reporter Jacob Kornbluh both labeled the 20,000-voter estimate a “wild exaggeration,” suggesting the endorsement may translate to closer to 5,000 votes at most.
Still, the endorsement adds to Cuomo’s growing Orthodox support, coming just days after he received backing from the Far Rockaway Jewish Alliance—the largest Orthodox bloc in Queens.

Bobov is a guaranteed 5,000-6,000 votes. A fourfold exaggeration for a guy who lied to congress is small bore. https://t.co/qvgKkiVTKk

Bobov community leaders — a significant Orthodox Jewish voting bloc based in Borough Park — just endorsed Andrew Cuomo for mayor and say he expressed “deep regret for the distress caused” by Covid lockdowns.

He expressed remorse and apologized for what he did to the frum community during Covid
Always was a liar and still is
Best voting for Adams
You can vote for Adams i November but vote for cuomo in the primary, otherwise that anti semit gets the nomination for the Dems
Smart move Bobov! Wake up Yidden AOC endorsed, pro-Hamas Mamdani is running a close second. Wake up Yidden!!!
I heard Cuomo say that he could have “communicated” better during Covid. That’s white washing and a weak apology. He needs to say that i relaize attending in person yeshiva and shuls for frum epople are as essential as attending a grocery store is for us and that my whole premise is a mistake. You fools don’t get it. You think covid was a one-off so big deal. But hey did you forget that 5 years before that there was metztia bpeh? What if a new thing stirs up? what about Yafed?
“remember what Amalek did to you”—on sukot “These people and their f***ing tree houses,” andrew the amalekite
As the old Yiddish song goes: Ven de Rebbe vote, Ven the rebbe vote …vote mein aleh chasidim.
Now just wait until Cuomo closes all Chassidish Yeshives & Frum schools again and imposes madatory NY DoE kefira & LGBTQ++ curriculum. Don’t say I don’t warn you first, repeat fools.
Who ever votes for him has to have their heads examined!
He must have promisied they some favor.
Let us hope a pro Jew candidate gets elected
Bobov has about 900 families so that’s 1800 parents and how many children age 18 and above, and half are not registered voters, so I’ll say about 1000 votes
Why 20000, I believe it’s closer to 50000….
lol. Who is this Joel Rosenfeld ?
I am reliving the time I spent with my Mother הי’ד as she was suffering greatly before she passed away 5 years ago.
She got Covid in a Nursing Home because the Rasha/Menuval Cuomo ימ’ש forced them to take in Covid patients from hospitals because he didn’t want to use the Hospital ship or the Javits Center since it was arranged by Trump.
Believe it or not I will be voting for Mamdani because I hope that he beats Cuomo. Then in the general election I’m hoping that he will split the Liberal vote with Adams & that Curtis Sliwa will win.
For you Bobov haters, Bobov has the biggest voting bloc in BP, when Joel Rosenfeld makes a decision, all Boro Park Mosdos follow it, and yes, they will probably get something out of it, a say in the future mayor’s office, I think that’s a good thing for Chasidic Jews….
sorry but Bobov has more than 20,000 voters registered from age 18 and up !!!
When will flatbush endorse?
for those that understand bp politics it does represent 20,000 votes lets explain why
1. adams is great but he is not running in the primary!
2cuomo and yiddelech go way back and he was very good as well as his father
3he has a very good chance at winning , whereas adams who is very fine has a very small chance at winning unfortunately
4 covid was a crazy time ,the confusion and pirud among our own factions & neighborhoods was a lot worse than cuomo…
5. moving forward he is the best of the options
finally everyone will back cuomo one at a time they just made up w bobov you be first.. each group wants something for their kehila vehamavin yovin!
Go Yoni Hikind!
Without Dov hikinds endorsement he stands no chance.
He definitely regrets what he did now. He needs the votes and it is an uphill battle for him n
The good news for him is that he is lucky that he is the “best” of all the evils running in the primary.
First of all Cuomo it’s not the liar, I don’t know what the deal he made with bobov, but I’m sure they are the ones that sold him that they have a 20,000 block vote, Izzy might have told them to vote for Cuomo he might have some interest we’re not aware of, but bobov are definitely low IQ gullible naive stupid people to believe one word he told them whatever the deal might be.
