Report: Huckabee Engage Haredi Lawmakers to Avert Coalition Collapse Amid Iran Tensions

JERUSALEM – U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee has quietly entered the fray of Israeli politics, meeting with Haredi lawmakers in recent days to urge them not to bring down the Netanyahu-led coalition. His message: government stability is vital as tensions with Iran reach a critical point.

According to Channel 13, Huckabee emphasized in private conversations that unity in Jerusalem is essential as the United States and Iran approach a potential turning point in nuclear negotiations. Diplomatic sources say the ambassador has stressed that a fractured Israeli government could complicate efforts to confront Tehran’s advancing nuclear program.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, aware of Huckabee’s involvement, has also been holding his own round of meetings with key Haredi Knesset members who are threatening to topple the coalition over the unresolved draft exemption law.

“We are in a historic moment with unprecedented challenges,” Netanyahu reportedly told them. “This is not the time to shake the foundations of the government.”

The Prime Minister spoke earlier today with U.S. President Donald Trump about the Iran threat, amid reports that Israel is weighing options to strike Tehran’s nuclear facilities if diplomacy fails.

Meanwhile, opposition leader Yair Lapid is said to be closely monitoring the situation and has reportedly heard from Knesset members about Netanyahu’s appeals.

Netanyahu’s office has declined to comment publicly on the ongoing discussions. Huckabee’s office acknowledged that the ambassador has been meeting with political figures but noted that the content of those meetings remains confidential.

Huckabee is right – however he is talking to the wrong parties. He should give that speech to Edelstein, Lapid, Liberman and all those people that only look to hurt the Chareidim.
THEY should shelve the whole project until after the Iran and Yemen tensions are resolved.
Their stubbornness – even if they may be right on the issue (not saying that they are) – can wait until after the wars are resolved.
Yes Huckabee – tell them to lay off for now so that Netanyahu can deal with the existing problems.
    They are the problem
At the same time he can express the same opinion to the Israeli Supreme Court for their help in creating divisiveness

Only factor to consider vis a vis prognosis of the government is:- What is best to secure immediate safe release of every hostage.
Every other issue combined isn’t even fractionally as important.
If keeping Netanyahu in power is best prognosis to secure release of hostages no-one has a right to sabotage current coalition.
If bringing in איתמר ben Gvir as next Prime-Minister is best prognosis to free up the hostages, get him in immediately.
