WASHINGTON D.C (VINnews)-President Trump praised Israel’s cooperation in a delicate ceasefire agreement with Iran, even as Tehran appeared to violate the truce hours after it took effect. Trump, who brokered the deal, warned that further attacks would be a “major violation” and urged all sides to hold fire — even as Iran launched fresh missiles at Israeli territory.

The ceasefire follows nearly two weeks of unprecedented conflict during which Israel struck deep into Iranian territory, destroying key military infrastructure and crippling Tehran’s ability to project force. U.S. forces also targeted Iranian nuclear facilities at President Trump’s direction, prompting a wave of retaliatory missile attacks from Iran.
Moments before the ceasefire was scheduled to begin, Iran fired multiple missile salvos at Israeli cities, killing four civilians in Beersheba. Israel responded by preemptively striking missile launchers in western Iran. Despite these provocations, Israel honored the terms of the ceasefire after achieving its operational goals and coordinated closely with President Trump.
Later, when new missile alerts sounded in northern Israel, the Israeli military again accused Iran of breaching the truce. Still, in a display of discipline and strategic patience, Israeli forces held back following President Trump’s public appeal for calm, with Trump confirming that Israeli aircraft were ordered to stand down.
“ISRAEL is not going to attack Iran,” Trump wrote. “All planes will turn around and head home… The Ceasefire is in effect!”
The Israeli Air Force carried out a small strike against an Iranian radar north of Tehran a short while ago, Israeli officials confirm.*
The strike comes in response to Iran’s launch of two ballistic missiles at Israel after the start of a ceasefire this morning.
US President Donald Trump had pleaded in a post on Truth Social: “Do not drop those bombs. If you do it is a major violation. Bring your pilots home, now.”
Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu then held a call, during which they reportedly agreed that one “symbolic” target would be struck in response to Iran’s ceasefire violation. But in a later post, Trump said Israel would not attack Iran.
