LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (VINnews)-Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is sounding the alarm on what he calls decades of corruption and mismanagement by the state’s Democratic leadership — accusing them of wasting billions and driving the cost of living through the roof.

Speaking in a recent interview, Schwarzenegger slammed the lack of transparency around the $24 billion that Governor Gavin Newsom pledged to tackle homelessness.
“$24 billion is missing because it’s wasted,” Schwarzenegger said. “They cannot even show it. They cannot even have any accountability. But this has been going on for 20 years now.”
The former governor, who served from 2003 to 2011, said the crisis is no longer just about poor decisions — it’s about a complete lack of accountability.
“No accountability means it’s stolen,” he said bluntly.
Schwarzenegger went on to criticize California’s crushing cost of living, laying the blame squarely on Democratic policies. “They created the circumstances where an apartment that used to cost $600 now costs $3,000,” he said, pointing to overregulation, taxes, and bloated bureaucracy as driving forces behind the crisis.
With homelessness surging and middle-class families fleeing the state, Schwarzenegger said California needs serious change — and fast.
