JERUSALEM – A devastating explosion in Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza, claimed the lives of five IDF soldiers from the Netzach Yehuda Battalion on Tuesday morning. The incident, one of the deadliest for the unit in the current conflict, occurred when a combat engineering force operating in the area triggered a complex series of explosive devices planted by Hamas terrorists.

The fallen soldiers were part of the 97th Netzach Yehuda Battalion, a unit composed primarily of ultra-Orthodox (Haredi) servicemen and part of the Kfir Brigade. The explosion also injured 14 others, two of them seriously. The injured were evacuated to hospitals in Israel, and their families have been notified.
The IDF released the names of two of the fallen:
Staff Sergeant Meir Shimon Amar, 20, of Jerusalem
Corporal Moshe Nissim Peretz, 20, of Jerusalem
The names of the remaining three soldiers will be made public after their families have been informed.
Netzach Yehuda has been at the front lines of combat operations in Gaza since the ground offensive began, and has played a key role in urban warfare and tunnel-clearing missions in dense and dangerous areas. Tuesday’s tragedy underscores the ongoing risks faced by IDF ground forces as they continue dismantling Hamas infrastructure and encountering sophisticated booby-trapped zones.
Military officials described the scene as a “complex combat environment heavily saturated with explosive devices.” The incident is under investigation to determine whether protocol was followed and how the explosives were triggered.

Is it me or am I missing something. From what I’m reading the overwhelming majority of korbonos H’YD, that have fallen since after 10/7, are frum boys from all across the religious spectrum. If we have (bloodied) skin in the game why is our community blasted for not serving in the IDF? The Tel Aviv and Haifa beaches and cafes are full of Chiloni draft evaders. Why doesn’t the left look at those as well?

These lions knew they were going into the valley of the shadow of death but they feared no evil, unfortunately the system failed them and allowed them to go there without constant supervision proper explosive ordinance protection and clearance

I am suprised they have been ambushing every day this week how easy is it to attack convoy by taking out back and front vehicles and launching rockets
