Porush said the decision came after reviewing the latest draft of the Haredi conscription bill, which he said failed to meet the faction’s expectations or those of its rabbinic leadership.
With both factions of United Torah Judaism exiting, Shas — led by Aryeh Deri — is now the only remaining ultra-Orthodox party in Netanyahu’s government.

If we don’t want to join in the defense of the country, then we should not partake in the administration of the country either. That’s only fair.
Resiging is different than voting no confidence. That vote failed to pass a couple of weeks ago and can’t be voted for another 6 months or so. Furthermore, in 2 weeks the knesset goes on vacation till after sukkos in oct. So no real repercussions till oct.
A coalition is made up of diverse groups who have there personal agendas. If the coalition is not responsive to these personal agendas, so good bye, no purpose in being in government….
So self destructive, do they believe if they bring down the govt, that a left wing govt will do better for the yeshivas?!
Meanwhile, the government funds yeshivos regardless.
Like it or not! The 2 זקני ראשי הישיבה made the decision! This is not for us to discuss or offer our opinion!
We need hikind to the rescue
failed to meet the faction’s expectations:- Only expectation that hasn’t been met is the freeing of all the hostages.
This bolting from the coalition is a brazen act of שנאת-חינם during the 3 weeks.
