Foreign Tourism to NYC Faces $4B Blow Amid Global Tensions

NEW YORK – New York City is bracing for a devastating $4 billion drop in foreign tourism this year, with 2 million fewer international visitors expected to arrive in 2025, according to NYC Tourism + Conventions.

The decline — projected at 14% — threatens the city’s economy, as international tourists account for just 20% of total visitors but generate roughly half of all visitor spending. “This downward revision represents an estimated loss of over $4 billion in direct spending,” said Julie Coker, the group’s CEO.

Industry insiders point to U.S. tariffs and strained foreign relations, particularly with Canada, as a major factor. Matt Levy, owner of Spread Love Tours, reported an 85% drop in Canadian revenue this year. “The kids, the parents want to go, but the school boards are saying, ‘Why generate taxes in a country where the president hates us?’” Levy said.

Tour operators like K. Krombie of Purefinder New York have also noticed sharp declines, attributing them to politics, tariffs, and a global shift in travel spending. “It’s devastating, and utterly noticeable,” Krombie said.

Central Park’s horse carriage industry, Midtown restaurants, and souvenir vendors are all reporting significant losses. Christina Hansen, a spokesperson for the carriage drivers, said, “We’re missing a lot of our customer base, which is the UK, Canada, Ireland, and Australia.”

Despite the challenges, NYC Tourism says its global marketing campaign will continue, emphasizing that “global travelers have an open invitation to visit the one and only New York City when they’re ready.”

Not to worry. Soon Zohran Mamdani will be in office and all problems fixed. When he personally runs out of money, he asks mommy and daddy for free help. I’m overly confident he has a top rate sophisticated plan in place for NY that doesn’t involve socialist communism or driving the city’s economy permanently into the ground. And as Robin Williams told the Germans, do you think the reason Germans have no sense of humor is because they eliminated all the funny people. When NY drives out its Jews, the smart economic drivers, the city will plunge into darkness. This has been the history for thousands of years. Jews move in, economy soars. Hate Jews and expel them, economy ruins.

The city reeks of weed. Hamas sympathizers run amok. And the only reason they can find for lower tourism is Trump. Who decides a vacation based on government politics?

It’s not “global tensions” that is cutting into our tourist revenue, it is the ravings of one orange hued despot wannabe. “Invade Greenland!” “Absorb Canada!” “Invade Panama!” Why would anyone expect foreign tourists to want to spend their money here?
