34 year old Wei Baoguo and 38 year old Yu Sheng Gui were arrested on August 4th in a sting operation coordinated by the New York State Police and Kiryas Joel Safety Patrol, as previously reported on VIN News. Both were charged with grand larceny in the 3rd degree, a Class D felony.
Trooper Jennifer Alvarez of NYSP Troop F told VIN News that the men were arraigned today in Blooming Grove Town Court and were released on their own recognizance. They are due back in court on September 4th.
Police are continuing their investigation. It is unclear at this time if the pair were invovled in any of the other scams involving Kiryas Joel residents.
KJSP director Moshe Vitriol urged area residents to remain on the alert for scammers.
“These people are very organized and very sophisticated and it is important to expose them,” warned Vitriol. “Be sure to verify everything they say and remember that no government agency will ever call you to ask for payment or gift cards.”

As if they will reappear
Already on the next plane to china thanks to cuomos no bail laws
Thank you Cuomo and Hochul!
Why aren’t they charged with impersonating a police officer?
That is a greater offence than grand larceny.
That let murder s go so this isn’t a big deal
Moshe Vitriol is a wild name.
