Florida to End All State Vaccine Requirements, Surgeon General Says

TALLAHASSEE, FL – Florida will eliminate all state vaccine mandates, including those for schoolchildren, Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo announced Wednesday. Speaking at a news conference, Ladapo compared vaccine requirements to “slavery” and pledged their removal, though he did not provide a timeline or specific plan for implementation.

For decades, Florida has required children to be vaccinated against diseases such as measles, mumps, rubella, polio, chickenpox, and hepatitis B before entering school. The state already permits parents to opt out of vaccinations for religious reasons, a policy that has drawn criticism from public health experts.

Ladapo’s remarks come amid growing debate over vaccine mandates nationwide, with some officials advocating for personal choice and others warning that removing requirements could increase the risk of outbreaks. The World Health Organization estimates vaccines have prevented more than 154 million deaths globally over the past 50 years, the majority among infants.

Public health officials have expressed concern that eliminating mandates could disproportionately affect children in low-income communities and those with limited access to healthcare, potentially reversing decades of progress in preventing infectious diseases.

I like Dr. Ladapo and I’m all for personal medical choice, but unfortunately certain infectious diseases (measles is one example) cannot be eradicated unless all or mass majority participate in inoculation. I blame the government & big Pharma for draconianly pushing a useless fake vaccine in 2021 while denying & censoring early successfull treatments for all the current mistrust. This is now the backlash result.

A clear distinction must be made between untested, hastily developed vaccines and well-established vaccines like polio, which have a proven track record. Mandating universal vaccination with all vaccines, regardless of their safety profile, or rejecting time-tested vaccines are both reckless approaches that endanger public health.

Comparing vaccine mandates to slavery is utterly ridiculous. The Left loves to compare everything they don’t like to Slavery and Jim Crow, Republicans shouldn’t play the same silly game.

Amazing what so many will believe just from reading random things online with no evidence whatsoever. Just about anything. Thankfully medicine is produced by those with bigger brains than that

I heartily applaud this brave move . While I agree vaccines might reduce the incidence of a handful of illnesses, mostly treatable, I believe it makes kids susceptible to everything else. I believe wholeheartedly that vaccines damage a child’s immune system. I have seen my own children. The ones I did not vaccinate almost never get sick. And if they do, they are better in record time. Compared to my older children who got every vaccine on time and spent many many days in the pediatrician with constant fevers, wheezing, constant ear infections, etc , my little kids are a world away. So while vaccines might save a few sicknesses , I think overall kids are sicker with them. Not including those who become autistic or develop life threatening allergies. (Yes, the frightening rise of allergies over the past few decades also closely correlates with the rapid rise of vaccines)

All of you commenting are missing the point and not making an argument,
Nobody is discussing here diseases or if vaccines are effective or not only if it should be mandated or not.
Anyone that’s for mandating should not be a parent at all, what that means is that you believe that the government loves your child more than you do, and you are so stupid as a parent that you will not make the right choices for your children, why is it only vaccines that needs to be mandated what about any other medical intervention? You go to your doctor you discuss it with him and you decide what’s best for your child.
My body my choice is only valid for killing babies.

Ladapo is an idiot and should never be allowed to practice medicine. He and the rest of you MORONS who espose unfounded lunatic misinformation would like to return to the dark ages of polio, and other communicable diseases that have been eradicated by the use of vaccines. That monkey should only be allowed to treat apes not humans
