NEW York – Investor Bill Ackman has shifted his support in New York City’s mayoral race, now backing Andrew Cuomo after previously endorsing Mayor Eric Adams.

Ackman said Adams’ leadership has been valuable but argued his sinking poll numbers leave him unable to defeat progressive challenger Zohran Mamdani. Cuomo, polling in the mid-20s, is viewed by Ackman as the candidate with the best chance to win.
“Andrew Cuomo has the background and skills to improve New York City, and I believe he’s learned from past mistakes,” Ackman posted on X.
The move marks a sharp reversal — just weeks ago Ackman criticized Cuomo’s energy and urged him to step aside. With less than two months until Election Day, the billionaire says Adams should “gracefully step aside” to allow Cuomo a clearer path.
Reports suggest federal officials have discussed possible roles for Adams in the Trump administration, but the mayor has rejected the idea, saying he intends to run for re-election.

Ackman, himself, should run for Mayor. I think he would be a very good one.
Why didn’t the frimmer plan ahead. Instead of doing nothing until the last minute, We should have Seychel to set up a Heimshe candidate for mayor years ago, Will we now learn our lesson and prepare for next election? Ben Schapiro, Simcha Felder, even Judge Ruchie or a Heimishe shtiller billionaire would have a better chance of beating Machmudani than Andrew would.
