IDF Confirms Strike in Doha Targeted Senior Hamas Leaders

DOHA – The IDF has confirmed that Israel carried out a precise strike in Doha, Qatar, targeting the senior leadership of the Hamas terrorist organization. Multiple media outlets reported Tuesday that explosions were heard in the Katara District of the Qatari capital, with witnesses seeing smoke rising over the area.

Israeli officials stated that the operation aimed at eliminating top Hamas figures responsible for orchestrating the group’s operations, including the October 7 massacre, and leading the ongoing war against Israel. Initial reports suggest that the Leader of the Hamas Political Bureau, Khalil al-Hayya, was killed alongside several other senior officials in the Israeli precision strike on the terrorist organization’s headquarters in Doha.

The United States was informed in advance about the operation.

In an official statement, the IDF said: “The IDF and ISA conducted a precise strike targeting the senior leadership of the Hamas terrorist organization. For years, these members have led the organization’s operations, are directly responsible for the brutal October 7 massacre, and have been orchestrating and managing the war against the State of Israel.

Prior to the strike, measures were taken to mitigate harm to civilians, including the use of precise munitions and additional intelligence.

The IDF and ISA will continue to operate with determination to defeat the Hamas terrorist organization responsible for the October 7 massacre.”

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz had warned last month that Hamas leaders abroad, many of whom are in Doha, could be targeted in response to the group’s attacks.
