WASHINGTON D.C (VINnews)— Israel’s strike on Hamas leaders in the Qatari capital of Doha on Monday shocked the White House and angered some of President Donald Trump’s top advisers, Axios reported.

The operation came as the U.S. was awaiting Hamas’ response to Trump’s new proposal for a hostage deal and broader peace agreement in the Gaza Strip, according to the report by Axios’ Barak Ravid.
U.S. officials said Washington received no early warning. The first signs came when American forces spotted Israeli fighter jets flying east over Syria and Iraq toward the Persian Gulf. By the time Israel clarified its intentions, missiles were already in the air, three officials told Axios.
Once Trump was briefed on the imminent strike, he directed Special Envoy Steve Witkoff to immediately notify the Qataris. But a U.S. official said that by the time Witkoff reached them, the bombs had already struck their targets in Doha.
The report said Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer met in Miami on Monday with Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner. Although Dermer appeared to be aware of the operation, he did not disclose Israel’s plans to strike Qatar.
Well, duh. Why should Israel tell the US in advance? Just so the Trump administration should say “don’t”? Israel has every right to defend themselves. As we’ve seen, nobody else will. This little spokesgirl is way off base. What did she expect? That Israel should wait until these terrorists come to visit Israel and eat out in a local falafel shop?! Then kill them? Such immature stupidity.

The simple message to Qatar is next time don’t harbor terrorists and you won’t have to worry about your territory being attacked. Which part of that is difficult for them to digest?
