QUEENS – An elderly couple killed in a Queens house fire were discovered tied up inside their Bellerose home, and investigators are treating the case as a double homicide, according to police.

The 77-year-old man and his 78-year-old wife were found after firefighters battled flames at their 254th Street residence Monday afternoon, the NYPD said. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the New York Post, surveillance footage shows a man entering the home shortly before the fire broke out. Police believe he set the blaze and later released video asking for the public’s help in identifying him.
The suspect is described as between 30 and 40 years old, with a medium build and dark complexion. He was last seen wearing a black hat, black jacket, blue jeans, and black sneakers.
Detectives and fire investigators worked overnight, combing through debris and collecting evidence from the charred home.
