Speaking at the event, Netanyahu praised Trump as “the greatest friend Israel has ever had in the White House,” citing his recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, the move of the US Embassy, recognition of Israeli sovereignty in the Golan Heights, withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal, and his continued support in the fight against Iran and Hamas.
Netanyahu recounted conversations with Trump about Israel’s beaches, saying the president once remarked that the coastline of Gaza should be a place of “peace, prosperity, and good life — not terror.”
“That’s why I told my dear friend, Mayor Tzvi Brot, that it would be a good idea to name this incredible beachfront promenade in honor of President Trump,” Netanyahu said. “Today, we are honoring a man who has stood with Israel time and again.”
Mayor Brot echoed the sentiment, praising Trump’s steadfast backing of Israel:
“Throughout his terms, President Trump has stood firmly at Israel’s side — against Iran, against Hamas, and in efforts to secure the release of our hostages. The President has chosen to be on the right side of history. We deeply appreciate his friendship and support.”
The Trump Promenade is set to become a major landmark on Bat Yam’s Mediterranean coastline, serving as a symbol of the strong alliance between Israel and the United States.
Nice.
Now it’s time to do something for the best ambassador Israel has ever had! Mike Huckabee!
