NEW YORK CITY (VINnews)-At last night’s Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) Gala in New York, Golani Brigade soldier and captivity survivor Edan Alexander delivered his first public remarks since being freed four months ago.

Alexander, 21, was held hostage in Gaza for 584 days after being captured on October 2. Speaking to a packed audience, he expressed deep gratitude to those who fought for his release and urged urgent action to bring home the remaining hostages.
“I stand here today free, but too many of my brothers and sisters are still in captivity,” Alexander said. “We cannot rest until every single one of them is returned.”
In an emotional moment, he also revealed his next step: he will return to Israel next month to rejoin the IDF and continue serving his country.
The FIDF Gala, which raises support for the well-being, education, and care of Israel’s soldiers, reservists, veterans, and their families, gave Alexander a standing ovation.
