2 Moderately Injured As Terrorist Rams Into Yeshiva Students Near Beitar Illit,

JERUSALEM (VINnews)— A terrorist rammed his car into a bus stop hitchhiking post near the town of Beitar Illit, injuring two yeshiva students. The terrorist then exited the vehicle and pulled out a knife but was neutralized by security forces.

The attack occurred at the El-Khader junction on Route 60 on the way to Jerusalem. The terrorist slammed into two yeshiva students aged 15 and 16, who were evacuated in serious and moderate condition to hospital.

Colonel (res.) Hazi Nehama, who happened to be nearby, neutralized the terrorist.
Security forces have begun roadblocks, encircling nearby villages, and conducting sweeps in the area.

According to initial reports, the terrorist rammed into the hitchhiking post, where the two victims, both charedi yeshiva students, were standing. After the ramming, the terrorist got out of the car with a knife, but was shot and neutralized by Col. (res.) Hazi Nehama, who was at the scene. The terrorist is reportedly from the village of Beit Fajjar.

The IDF spokesperson said that:

“Following the initial report of an attack at the El-Khader junction in the Etzion Brigade area, a terrorist was neutralized after carrying out a vehicle-ramming and attempted stabbing at the site. IDF forces are conducting roadblocks, sealing villages, and searching the area.”

United Hatzalah medics Shaul Nachmias, Yaakov Wallach, and Leiby Klein reported that “We provided initial medical assistance at the scene to two victims currently classified as in moderate and mild-to-moderate condition. Both suffered bleeding injuries and were bandaged. One victim, a 15-year-old boy, was taken to the hospital by United Hatzalah ambulance.”

“A ramming and stabbing attempt occurred on Route 60, after the right turn at the El-Khader junction from Husan toward the south. A terrorist rammed two civilians, exited the vehicle with a knife, and was neutralized by a civilian with gunfire. Two injured people, one moderately-to-seriously, and one lightly, were evacuated to Shaare Zedek and Hadassah hospitals.”

The names of the yeshiva students are Aharon Ben Avigayil and Chaim Gad Ben Naomi, they are both studying at the Ohr Elchanan yeshiva in Jerusalem.
