Zamir made the remarks during a tour of Gaza City with top commanders, including Southern Command chief Maj. Gen. Yaniv Asor, Military Advocate General Maj. Gen. Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi, and 162nd Division commander Brig. Gen. Sagiv Dahan.

During a meeting, Zamir stressed that the ongoing offensive in Gaza City “leads to new opportunities and brings us closer to achieving the goals of the war.”
“We must continue to excel in military action and lead with professionalism,” he said. “The IDF will enable the political echelon flexibility in any decision regarding the conduct of the campaign.”
The remarks came as political leaders in Jerusalem weigh Trump’s proposal and debate whether Israel should continue pressing its military advantage or enter a U.S.-brokered diplomatic track.
