Thousands of reserve soldiers were invited to the event, which featured performances by well-known artists including Evyatar Banai, Shuli Rand, Haim Moshe, Amir Benayoun, and the Revivo Project.
However, at the opening of the evening, a military band composed of female soldiers performed in front of the audience, surprising many attendees.

Some combat soldiers present at the event said:
“There are thousands of fighters here, most of them religious. We’re in shock at the trick played on us by senior officials in the Manpower Directorate. This feels like a slap in the face to us and our families, after two years of serving in the reserves.”
It is important to clarify that the performance included only two songs at the beginning of the event, during a time when most of the audience had not yet arrived, and the remainder of the concert was geared toward a broad, inclusive audience.
The organization “Wives of Soldiers for the Sanctity of the Camp”, along with the Chotam organization, responded by saying:
“Time and again it’s proven that the senior leadership of the IDF has no regard for religious soldiers, despite the fact that they serve in huge numbers and put their lives on the line in all the most combat-intensive units. There’s absolutely no way to talk about drafting charedim under such conditions, not while there’s such deep and blatant disrespect toward observant soldiers in the IDF.”
“Defense Minister Israel Katz (Likud) must wake up and address these incidents.”
The religious soldiers and their families understand that if the IDF can’t be trusted to be sensitive to religious issues then there’s no way to talk about drafting Chareidim.
Real leadership would evaluate who ordered the female troops performance and publicly discharge or fire them.Trust must be earned, not commanded. A societal reassessment is long overdue.
