UNITED KINGDON – Rabbi Benjamin Rickman, a Mizrachi emissary and community leader in Manchester, described the increasing fear among Jews in the city following a recent Yom Kippur attack that claimed two lives. Speaking to Arutz Sheva, he said the community faces unprecedented antisemitism, with many avoiding public displays of faith or symbols for safety.

“Some people still show their pride by attending synagogue and carrying Israeli flags, but many live in fear,” he said.
Rickman expressed concern over the need for armed security outside synagogues and criticized local politicians for failing to address extremist groups. He said the loudest voices often dominate public discourse, leaving the broader community feeling unheard.
Amid growing concerns, Rabbi Rickman noted that more families are considering relocating to Israel. His own children have begun the move, reflecting a broader trend of Jewish families seeking safety and stability abroad.
He added that these challenges predate recent attacks and continue to affect daily life in Manchester, with Jewish schools among the few institutions receiving heightened security and pro-Palestinian demonstrations sometimes turning aggressive.

Just move already it’s enough. We should all be in our homeland. How much more can we take? The savages are breeding like rabbits unfortunately they need to be sterilized so they don’t kill any more innocent Jews

Aliya yes, but do it systematically: study Hebrew intensively, learn how your skill set matches Israel’s needs in different parts of the country, consult the aliya assistance orgs and do what they say, etc. Panic aliya is failed aliya.
