WASHINGTON D.C (VINnews)President Donald Trump on Sunday called on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac — now led by homebuilding entrepreneur Bill Pulte — to mobilize major builders to construct “hundreds of thousands of homes” across the country.

“They’re sitting on 2 million empty lots, a record,” Trump wrote. “I’m asking Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to get big homebuilders going and, by so doing, help restore the American Dream!”

Trump’s statement highlights his renewed focus on housing affordability, a key issue amid record-high mortgage rates and a national shortage of available homes.

K let’s be honest trump campaigned on ending the disaster Biden economy and instead of fixing it he went crazy with all his tarriffs and inflation is still very high and economy is not great eather that’s why houses are not affordable he should not put blame on anyone else

Real problem with ‘making houses affordable’ through government sponsorship is that sub-prime loans are made, many of which eventually will fail, causing the ‘Fed’ (the central bank) to again step in with bailouts, as they’ve done in the past. They do this by diluting the money supply (printing more dollars), which causes inflation. This is a tax on all the citizenry and is unfair in essence.
