According to the IDF, a fighter jet targeted the cell, which was armed with mortars and explosive devices and had planned to attack Israeli troops operating in Gaza City.

In a separate incident, another mortar attack lightly wounded an Israeli soldier, who was taken to a hospital for treatment. The IDF says his family has been notified. Fighter jets later struck the operatives responsible for the attack.

The army also reported that Hamas terrorists fired RPGs at engineering vehicles belonging to the 98th Division in Gaza City, though no injuries were caused. Israeli aircraft subsequently struck the building from which the projectiles were launched.

The IDF halted offensive operations in Gaza City on Saturday, with troops continuing defensive actions as U.S. President Donald Trump pushes for the implementation of a plan to end the war.
