NEW YORK (VINnews) — An Arab social media influencer with five million followers posted a video this week on the X platform (formerly Twitter), showing charedi Jewish children on a flight from New York to Tel Aviv covering the personal entertainment screens on the plane with pillows in order to avoid viewing inappropriate content displayed on them.

The video quickly gained thousands of views, but not because of what was actually filmed, but rather because of the commentary that accompanied it.
أطفال يهود مسافرون عبر الطائرة من نيويورك إلى تل أبيب يقومون بتغطية الشاشات أمامهم وذلك بسبب قواعد تحريم استخدام الأدوات الكهربائية يوم السبت (الشابات).

In the tweet attached to the video, the influencer explained:“The Jewish children are covering the screens on the plane because on the Sabbath it is forbidden to use electrical devices.”
He continued, or at least tried to elaborate:“On this day it is forbidden to touch money, use phones, or operate electrical appliances. Anyone who does so commits a grave sin.”
There was, however, one small (and quite significant) detail the “learned commentator” apparently forgot to check before typing: If it really was the Sabbath — then how exactly were they flying?

What a holy nation we are!
Which other children in the world have the moral capacity to block an enticing movie on a boring 12 hour flight.
Ashreichem Yisroel Am Nosha BaHashem!
Well, at least it wasn’t antisemitic…
Gei leren mit a goy bartenire
You can actually ask the stewardesses to disable the screens. I do it all the time for my kids so that they sleep and don’t play around with the screens.
Ok, this really isn’t a big deal . . .
I was on a flight recently sitting next to a chasidishe man the thing that concerned him was the video at the beginning what do in case of emergency the rest of the flight he was watching the flight
Reminds me of a story (I think it was R. Akiva Eiger). The person who blew shofar in the shul started going off the derech. The Rov insisted he be removed from the position. So the person complained to the local Polish authority against the Rov. The Rov was called in and told to explain himself. “Why are you treating him so badly to demote him from that position?” Answered the Rov: “I am not demoting him, I am promoting him. As you know, the holiest day of the Jewsih year is Yom Kippur, not Rosh ha Shanah. Up till now, he blew shofar on Rosh ha Shana. I am now promoting him to blow shofar at the end of Yom Kippur, a holier day.” Impressed, the authority dismissed the Rov.
so, let that be a lesson to you – don’t learn yiddishkeit from a non-jew!
It definitely wasn’t Shabbos or they wouldn’t ride in the plane
“latino on yiddish” is an arab?! amazing.
In brooklyn. In some photo stores you can buy a special cover for the plane screen
And x is formally twitter. Now everything makes sense.
This is not something our fathers and zeidas did. My chasdisha reebaim all took the city bus and never made this kind of a tzimus on an airplane. Of course one should watch their eyes. But just turen the video screen to the weather and or maps. And yes its ok to sit near a lady. Oh one more myth, no people on plans are not less tznuis than 30 years ago. Baloney. When I grew up many wore tight pants or jeans too. Its no different today. Thats just an excuse to be a chinuyk. Be normal and learn how to be tznuis while being normal
whats an influencer doing on an el al flight ?
Our society is fried.
What is it anyone’s business how they wish to fly. It’s their business and mind your OWN.
total freak show…no different than Muslim fanatacism
