NEW YORK — On Thursday, the NYPD released bodycam footage capturing the heroic rescue of a teenage girl from the freezing Harlem River earlier this week. The dramatic video highlights the split-second actions of three officers who risked their own safety to save the young woman after she jumped into the icy waters in what authorities described as an apparent suicide attempt.

The New York Post identified the officers as Ankit Gupta, Wilmer Guerrero, and Shuaibul Amine, all from the 32nd Precinct and each with less than four years on the force. In the video, Guerrero can be seen shedding his jacket and gear before plunging into the river, swimming to reach the panicked teen, while Gupta and Amine assist from the shore, pulling both to safety.

The footage underscores the bravery, teamwork, and quick thinking of the officers. Emergency responders soon wrapped the teen in blankets and transported her to a nearby hospital, conscious and alert.
The NYPD praised the officers for their courage, noting that it was their first water rescue and a defining moment early in their promising careers.

Under new plan of NYC mayoral elect, Zooran would not let NYPD respond. His plan calls for social workers instead of NYPD.
Wow, amazing officers
This lifts everyone up
good to see the NYC police doing a very positive thing.
I hope the girl is given the needed treatment she needs to bring her life back together.
So by rhe way, if Mandani is cutting ploice funding, who will protect him ?
I’m sure a social worker could easily talk the girl out, and not even get wet. NYPD- who needs ‘em?
Let’s cut Police funding !!! There are many words for him that come to mind .
The cops in NYC dont even let you go for a simple swim anymore
