CHESTNUT RIDGE, NY – A tragic accident on Sunday morning claimed the life of Yisroel Meir Freeman z”l, a father of three in his early 30s, when a tree suddenly fell on his car as he drove to kollel.

The incident occurred near 445 South Pascack Road, where the impact crushed Freeman’s vehicle. Emergency responders, including Ramapo Police, South Spring Valley Fire Department, Chaverim of Rockland, and Rockland Hatzolah, arrived quickly and worked to free him from the wreckage.
Freeman was transported by Hatzolah paramedics to Westchester Medical Center, where he was rushed into surgery. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he died from severe injuries sustained in the crash.
Freeman, originally from Boro Park, was the son of longtime East Side Hatzolah volunteer Reb Yaakov Freeman Yb”l. Details regarding his levayah will be shared as they become available.
