JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Roi Polakov, a Magen David Adom (MDA) EMT, was in the middle of a routine check of a public defibrillator at the entrance to an Aroma café in Afula when he received an alert on the MDA app: a man had collapsed just a few buildings away.

Roi didn’t hesitate. He grabbed the defibrillator he had just been checking, ran to the scene, found civilians performing CPR under guidance from the 101 dispatch center, and connected the device to the 37-year-old man, who was unconscious and not breathing. The defibrillator recommended and then delivered a shock that brought him back to consciousness within seconds. The man was evacuated to the hospital fully conscious.
Roi Polakov said:
“I didn’t think the check would prove itself so quickly. I was on the phone with the MDA dispatch center, and they told me I was only a few buildings away from someone suffering cardiac arrest. I immediately took the defibrillator and ran. After one shock, the man started breathing and opened his eyes. The defibrillator undoubtedly saved his life.”
Magen David Adom has installed around 1,500 public defibrillators across the country, including in Aroma branches, with the goal of saving the lives of people who suffer cardiac arrest in public spaces.

B’H Only in Israel is emergency medical care only seconds away. Be MDA or the Tzaddik Eli Beer’s Hatzalah an EMT or Paramedic is there. The MOST ADVANCED system in the world. No wonder life expectancy in Israel is longer than here in the USA. And instead of emulating, the stupid hateful arab/moslem momzers want to DESTROY.
