“I’m holding her hand right now,” Gary Beckstrom told the Times. “She has a mortal wound. She is not expected to survive.”

Beckstrom, 20, and Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe, 24, were ambushed Wednesday afternoon as they stood post near a Metro station just blocks from the White House. Both remain in critical condition.

The Beckstrom family declined to comment further, with her father saying only that they are praying for a miracle.

They should be charginig this illegal garbage with attempted murder, not assault. Hopefully he will be charged under federal statutes which allow for the death penalty.
