NEW YORK CITY (VINnews) — Shari Redstone, the former controlling shareholder of Paramount Global, declared Wednesday that combating antisemitism and racism is now the “most important” work of her career following the $8 billion sale of the media conglomerate to tech heir David Ellison.

Speaking at an event in New York, Redstone said the top priority in the next chapter of her life is “fighting the issues of antisemitism and racism,” emphasizing the need to build a better future for coming generations.
“We have to create that world we want for our kids and for generations to come,” Redstone told the audience.
The sale of Paramount, which closed earlier this year, ended nearly four decades of Redstone family control over the company that includes CBS, MTV, Nickelodeon, and the Paramount film studio. The deal transferred ownership to Ellison’s Skydance Media in partnership with RedBird Capital and other investors.
Redstone, who has been increasingly vocal on Jewish issues and campus antisemitism since the October 7, 2023, Hamas attacks on Israel, has pledged to devote significant time and resources to advocacy efforts through her family foundation and other platforms.
Her remarks come amid a continued surge in reported antisemitic incidents across the United States and heightened concerns within the Jewish community about rising prejudice on college campuses and in public discourse.

“Since 1948, the politically motivated false ‘genocide’ accusation against Israel has repeatedly
been used to undermine Jewish historical trauma and, often, to blur the reality of the Holocaust itself.”
Shari Redstine was married for years to Rav Yitzhak Aharon Korff and they had several children together.
