Video circulating on social media shows Ahmed crouching behind parked cars before rushing one of the attackers from behind and wrestling away a shotgun. The struggle lasted several seconds before the gunman fell backward, allowing the weapon to be seized.
Witnesses said the intervention helped slow the attack and gave others time to escape. Footage later shows Ahmed seated on the ground as bystanders assist him with what appeared to be a leg injury.
Police said two men opened fire at Bondi Beach shortly before 7 p.m. Sunday, prompting a major emergency response. One suspect was shot dead by officers, and the second was taken into custody with injuries.

Authorities said 10 people were killed, including one of the attackers, and at least 11 others were injured, among them two police officers. The shooting occurred during a crowded evening that included a public Hanukkah gathering and nearby holiday markets.
NSW Police said an extensive crime scene remains in place and urged anyone with relevant mobile phone or dashcam footage to contact investigators.

This hero….YES he is a hero must be commended. How anyone can condemn him for simply having been born a Moslem is beyond belief. Have we as community sunk so low?
I understand why he put the gun down and distanced himself from it. Very clear thinking. But, emotionally, I’d probably have blown a hole through the guy first.
Baruch Dayan Emes !!
I pray for his well being.
Good for him. At least we now know for sure he wont be prosecuted for pointing a gun.
The guy did a rational thing — defended his own life from a mass shooter who would have shot him the next second if he didn’t jump him right now — that makes him an intelligent man, not necessarily a “hero”. And what color underwear he was wearing or him being a muslim has nothing to do with his action — any rational man would have done the same. Stop with the Qatari propaganda.
i read he was arrested for assault
