NEW YORK (VINnews) — In a video posted on social media, an African-American passenger on a New York subway train is seen shouting antisemitic insults at a Chabad-Lubavitch Hasid before grabbing him by the neck.

Shortly after the train departed from Manhattan on Monday night, two men, believed to be a father and son, entered the subway car and began directing antisemitic slurs and insults at the young Jewish men, who were returning from a Hanukkah party. One of the victims took out his cellphone to record the encounter, saying he feared for his safety and wanted documentation for police.

VIEWER CAUTION: Extremely graphic language

The verbal harassment quickly escalated into physical violence. One of the attackers grabbed the Chabad chasid by the neck, and the assault included punches, kicks and shoving inside a crowded train car, according to reports. Bystanders intervened only minimally.

“It happened an hour ago, on the 3 line from Union Square to Kingston, one stop before. We changed from the 4 to the 3 at Franklin Station, and there they were at the station and started cursing, got on the train with us all the way to Kingston, we got off one stop before Kingston,” one of the chasidim reported.

“The moment the younger of the two realized I was recording, he attacked me,” another victim said. Another Chabad chasid began filming the incident from several feet away, and that footage later circulated on social media.

It’s sad that no one of the passengers cared , we need to learn how to defend ourselves

Another case of father and son attacking Jews from the lowest of the low. Is this the new trend? (Waiting for one of the stupid liberal commenters on here saying that “there are two sides to every story”).

This seems to be the prelude to a Madmani city. Very disconcerting!

I had a similar incident on the Brighton Beach line, back in March of 1963, although I was not specifically targeted for being a Jew. I was wearing a winter hat, since it was during the middle of the winter. I was coming back from a hockey game at Madison Square Garden, which was sponsored by the Post Bar Mitzvah Club of the Talmud Torah of Flatbush, where we saw a hockey game. There must have been about 20 of us in our group. Because the train was crowded, we were not all seated together. For some unknown reason, two shiksers, who were standing near where we were seated, started verbally harassing us, and making remarks, which I did not appreciate. Their companion, who I later found out was Jewish, also made some harassing remark, directed our way. I don’t know if they were high on drugs, or what? However, when I attempted to get off the train, at the Avenue H subway station, one of the shiksers deliberately stood in my way. I told her that I did not appreciate being harassed while I was seated. When I attempted to get off the train, she tried to block me, and attempted to kick me, with a heavy shoe. In self defense, I immediately retaliated, and kicked her. I regret having to do that, but she was not wearing sneakers, and could have injured me with her heavy shoe. Her boyfriend, who was causing us problems, somehow grabbed the door as it was closing, and and came out of the train after me, and grabbed the hood of my winter coat, to attack me. My Uncle of blessed memory, who was on the train with me, immediately grabbed that hoodlum, and punched him. My Father (z’l), was also there, and held onto that hoodlum, along with my Uncle. A local NYPD cop was called. My Uncle and Father explained what occurred. The hoodlum had the nerve to state “my Uncle is on the police force”. The NYPD cop to his credit responded “So what does that make you, punk? Get back on the train”. Even though that incident occurred nearly sixty three years ago, I remember it as if it was yesterday, and how uncomfortable I felt on the subway, being confronted by hoodlums, who decided to pick a fight for no reason at all. Fortunately, two years after that incident, Mayor Wagner ordered that the NY Transit Police be assigned to every subway car (1 cop on every train), and at least one cop on every subway station, from the hours of 8PM-4AM. They did a very good job, and crime on the subways at that time, decreased by over 65%. Unfortunately, the cops were removed from the subways in 1974, because of money problems which NYC had. Their presence was nice nice while it lasted.

MTA subway is a “sensitive location”.
You can’t carry your gun.

Will these low-life perps be pursued and arrested? Their ugly faces are very clear on the video.

R Yaakov Emden from his siddur The Beis Yaakov:

“Hear me my friends and brothers who live in lands that are not ours, who live on contaminated soil. Remember this and strengthen yourselves. Remember Hashem and place Jerusalem upon your heart.

Do not intend to settle down in Chutz la’aretz G-d forbid, to fulfill the prophecy that the land of your enemies will consume you. That was the sin of our earliest ancestors who caused us eternal weeping through their despising the desirable land.

Because this sin has stood against us throughout our bitter exile. We have been persecuted, we have toiled but found no rest, we have been forgotten like the dead, all because we have completely
forgotten about living in Eretz Yisroel.

Not one in a thousand stirs himself to take hold of the land, to settle the land to settle there permanently.. Only one in a country, and maybe two in a generation. No one takes notice of her, seeks her love, inquires after her well being, or anticipates seeing her.

As we dwell peacefully in chutz la’Aretz , we imagine that we already have found another, comparable to Eretz Yisroel and Jerusalem. This is why all types of misfortune has fallen upon us, how much danger to you put yourself, both body and soul, every single day for a loaf of bread, but for Hashem’s honour and Hashem’s pleasure , to merit ever lasting life, you become lazy.

Why don’t you devise strategies to run for your life while you still can , to come and dwell in the shade of the Almighty, and find refuge under His wings. But if the Jews would only desire and resolve to return to the Holy Land and engage in Torah their land would return to its original strength and goodness .

As long as the Jew, especially the Talmidim Chachamim fail to give thought to their Land, their Torah will not truly endure for one is dependent on the other. In every other area, they take stringencies upon themselves , they are extremely meticulous regarding the smallest and minutest details of many other mitzvos, spending large sums of money and exerting great effort to observe them in the most meticulous ways possible. Why then do they belittle and act so slothfully towards this beloved mitzvah. The peg upon which the entire Torah hangs.

I know this sounds wrong.
To be truly honest. In this messed up NYC we live in prosecuting the defender not the provocateur.

Best to stand idle and let them attack you for a few minutes. If you fight back like Daniel Penny your in for months of court battles.

Take a hit and press charges for anti semetic hate crime.
